Hi all well I’ve managed to get out a few times this past month. Even with the weather being as it has in these neck of the woods, we’ve had it all frosts snow cold winds the lot. I did a few day sessions with the boy Jay Skinner we was both after a snow carp at Bearslake but sadly after trying every trick in the book the carp just weren’t interested. As I write this the suns out and the carp are moving, it’s been a long winter this year at Bearslake a very slow start. I did a couple of 48hr sessions again waking up to frosts, freezing fog and snow with a cold North Easterly wind on the lake every day I have never known it so cold. Mrs Bear thought I was mad going fishing in it she was probably right but as me old granddad said you won’t catch at home. None of the 48hr sessions produced anything and it wasn’t from the lack of trying I can assure you .My last session was with the lads from Specimen carp baits they had travelled up from Essex for a 48.hr session. It was good to finally meet up and although nothing was caught, Jamie lost one, it was a great weekend with plenty of chat and a good laugh mainly at Baz who was getting some stick about a pup his kids were getting on at him to get .The next time we meet is April 26-28th for the carp comp at oak lakes, Essex I am looking forward to that with the Catch and Release team and Cat and Carp. Before that though got a 48hr planned for the coming weekend where I will be joined by Mrs bear for her first trip this year and hopefully a few carp on the bank .
So until nest time tight lines and stay productive
cheers Bear.
