THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE
On a cold winters day at Rookley country park on the Isle of Wight I had planned for a little day session to get a bend in the rod.
The day was a very crisp Sunday with conditions clearly against me.
After getting the rods all sorted with a nice little sprinkling of TOR baits squid and orange cast to my spots with a little pva bag from Castaway pva of crushed boilies I was sorted.
But things didn’t go to plan and I struggled but I had the support from a good friend and lake owner Tim Oatley and a few other blokes. But things were going to get better with the arrival of a lovely kingfisher so I did what everybody does when they are blanking, take some arty farty shots.
And to make my day even better my little boy came to visit.which he loved sitting with his dad smelling pop ups.
So as the title says it’s the little things in life make it so worth while. I did catch to save the blank a lovely little 7lber niceOne of nicest days I’ve had in a while they all don’t have to be monsters it’s what happens whilst on the bank is why we go.
The next short session was at blackwater syndicate down the road.
Conditions were not great but a bit of sun is always nice this time of year.
I started today off with three spots I’ve had fish from before, with a light sprinkling of TOR baits squid and orange and a small pva bag from Castaway pva of crushed boiles. But as the day was drawing on I knew it wasn’t going to happen so I had to pull my finger out.
So I changed over to some multi-rigs with TOR baits Glastonbury specials on and a three bait fast melting stringer and cast at anything that looked Carpy but the day was nearly over.
Just as I was thinking of packing up I saw a fish roll which made me jump up in my seat, I was on it … rod reeled in, new stringer on and cast. It wasn’t long before I was rewarded with a little stunner to keep me happy.
