A few weeks later the car was loaded up and linear was in sight. As i arrived i noticed that the car park was full and it was bivvy city on St Johns things weren’t looking good again. After a quick walk around it was clear that is wasn’t any space to get near the fish so I had a walk around Manor Farm. I quickly noticed that peg 2 was free which was good as iv fished there before and knew the spot very well. So out came the rods 16.5 wraps with three solid bags cast out to the spot with a gallon of maggots and chopped boilie spombed out i was very confident. All three rods were fished with innovate bait hair raisers as hook baits, two on Kream Krunch and one on S2T.
Spombs Away
My spomb mix, never leave home without your trusty spomb.
Mix includes;
Maggots
Half a kilo of chopped Kream Krunch steamies
Bag of 6mm pellets
Small jar of hemp
GLM powder
Betaine Powder
I didnt have to wait to long before the middle rod was melting away and after a short battle a lovely little 13lbs mirror was in the folds of the lading net Happy Days!!! With a solid bag ready and waiting the rod got re wrapped at 16.5 and cast back out to the spot, and was treated with a few more spombs of goodiness. Probably an hour later the right hand rod was away this was a smaller fish than the first so was quickly unhooked and slipped back. Again with a solid tied up the rod was re-clipped and was straight back out to the zone. Please see my episode of Carpshed to see the content of my solid pva bag. Within minutes the rod was again this time to a much stronger fish so I took it slow not to lose this one. After a short tussle a stunning dark mirror of 19lbs 8oz was in the net. Get in!!!
