Now before we go any further I want to start by saying I am not authority in bait making but I have done it myself for a few years in my past and also I have listened to many people and read many articles so what I am about to say is my own opinion and not a commercial viewpoint because I have to. Bait making and bait companies are possibly the most saturated sector of the fishing industry and especially in the carp arena. With a million additives and a hundred thousand flavour combos in many cases the whaft of a new bait is something that hooks the angler far far before the fish have even seen it.

Now in the past 6 months I have been lucky enough to become a bait tester for innovate baits and from the moment that I took delivery of my first batch I knew that something was very different. Now I had been lucky enough last year to visit the great innovators Steve Slater and Gary Westcott at their lake in Chawston where I first laid hand eyes and indeed tasted my first innovate offering. The biggest difference was apparent these were a proper steamie. Now I say steamie and I can already see your ears prick up that’s right Innovate Baits are a steamed rather than a boiled product. Below is the basic statement made by Innovate and never has a truer word rang out through the fog of bait misguidance.

Now within those few lines are some great statements that really do stand true the fact that the “lads” at innovate are salt of the earth genuine anglers means that their“out of the box” innovative way has created an attractive, highly digestible food source that not only promotes health but in turn causes the fish to put on natural weight. The biggest innovation of course being the steaming process. The fact that this is done for a minimal amount of time and at a carefully regulated temperature means that the baits retain all the food quality that was originally placed into them and it doesn’t “boil out”.

With a great range of baits incorporating all these foot and appetite stimulators the boys have created a bait that can be used in any circumstance any water and for any of your targets. Innovate are dedicated to creating something unique and with a sole target of attracting the fish and getting them hooked the bait is something that simply has to be in your mind when looking for a tried and tested bait. Many a beast including TWO-TONE FROM THE BROOK at 62LB 4OZ S-2T 2009 AND THE FAT LADY FROM ST IVES LAGOON 51LB+ 2009, have fallen foul of an innovate bait proving that they are the business and not a gimmick, with huge catches and fishery records being broken by the bait and also the bait took a u.k brace to 106lb. To cement this in 2011 they became tackle awards “best emerging bait company”, and in such a saturated market that’s no mean feat. Now as you have seen in my blogs I am a little more than a bit in love with the squid2t and that is my chosen weapon for my fishing but the range covers all areas and I am sure that all baits are irresistible.
