November/December; Its has been busy time of year as late what with my birthday and moving house its has taken its toll on my fishing. However I did manage to sneak off to linear for a few nights in November in hope of catching my target fish ‘The Big Plated’.
As I pulled into the car park of the famous linear fishery I couldn’t believe my eyes to find only ONE other car parked in there, this is a very rare sight down linear so as you can imagine I was very excited about having nearly all the lake to myself.
As I walked round the lake I spotted Kev Hewitt fishing the point so I popped over to see if I could cadge a brew off him. as we chatted bout what he had caught a few fish showed off the social bank, that will do for me barrow loaded off I went. With all the gear set up rods baited with my favourite solid bag presentation I cast out and fired up the stove. There were still a few fish showing in the area so i decided to give them a bit of bait, 10 spombs of maggots and crushed Kream Krunch boilies were fired out to the spot. It was around 7:30pm I had a fast take on my middle rod the fish felt like a good one so I played it very gingerly ( excuse the punt). After a short battle I had the fish safely in the folds of the net, on the scales she went 25.02 and was a stunning old looking mirror happy days. It was my first cast out to using a new a bait as well, (I would like to take this opportunity to thank the guys at Innovate for giving me a chance to be a part of the ever growing team) so I was more than happy with the result. Unfortunately that was the only bit action I had for the rest of the year, so once again the big girl has not graced my landing net but there is always next year…….. To be continued.
